ANTIQUE VINTAGE MENS CEREMONIAL COFRADIA TZUTE NAHUALA, GUATEMALA HUIPIL TEXTILE

Beautiful vintage men's ceremonial tzute from Nahual, Guatemala. Typical intentional red dye bleed. Probably from the 3
rd
quarter of the 20th century. Supplementary wefts seem to be silk floss, though they could be rayon.
Good to fair condition. Minor wear with some losses from of one corner, frayed hole next to center motif square, sewn up cut on edge, some small holes, stains. The dye bleed is intentional. This is typical of Nahuala textiles from this period. I haven't tried to remove this. See photographs, which were taken outdoors without a flash on a sunny day.
