Guatemalan Textile Weaving Beautiful Royal Purple.
A gorgeous piece of indigenous weaving from a local weaving Co-op in Antigua Guatemala. Beautiful royal purple. Photos seem to show a blue tinge to the fabric, but this is a function of lighting, not seen in the actual fabric. Weaving has beautiful patterning, and the attached fringe is part of the weaving itself. I have attached several close ups so you can see the complexities of the weaving. Piece measures 18 1/2” wide and 71” long. I don’t know my ch about fabrics, but the texture of the weaving threads seems to point toward cotton.
